At a Glance

What We Access

CoolTables requires certain permissions to function. Here's what each permission is used for:

Google Sheets Access

"See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets"

Required to read your spreadsheet data for loading to BigQuery and to capture cell ranges for the Range-to-Image feature.

Google Drive Access

"See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app"

Used to save generated images from the Range-to-Image feature to your Drive.

BigQuery Access

"View and manage your data in Google BigQuery"

Required to load data from your Sheets into your BigQuery datasets. We only interact with BigQuery projects and datasets you explicitly specify.

Email Address

"See your primary Google Account email address"

Used to identify your account for task history storage and support purposes.

External Service Connection

"Connect to an external service"

CoolTables uses Firebase/Firestore to securely store your task history settings, allowing you to save and repeat data loading configurations.

Sidebar Display

"Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars"

Required to show the CoolTables user interface within Google Sheets.

How We Use Your Data

  • Spreadsheet Data: Processed only to execute your requested operations (BigQuery loading, image capture). We do not store or transmit your spreadsheet contents to our servers.
  • Task History: Your saved task configurations are stored in Firestore, linked to your Google account. This enables you to repeat previous data loading tasks.
  • Email Address: Used solely to associate your task history with your account.

Where Data Is Stored

  • Spreadsheet data: Remains in your Google Sheets and BigQuery (your Google account)
  • Generated images: Saved to your Google Drive
  • Task history: Stored in Google Cloud Firestore (secured by Google Cloud infrastructure)

What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your data
  • We never use your data for advertising or ad targeting
  • We never share your spreadsheet contents with third parties
  • We never access spreadsheets you haven't opened with the add-on

Your Control

You are in full control of your data:

  • Delete task history: Contact us to request deletion of your stored task configurations
  • Revoke access: Remove CoolTables permissions anytime at Google Account Permissions
  • Uninstall: Remove the add-on from Google Sheets Extensions menu

Data Security

CoolTables uses Google Cloud infrastructure (Firestore) for data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
